A course of continuing education designed to increase the clinical massage therapist's skill and competency in relieving muscular pains.This method will enable a therapist to determine and quickly address the muscles causing skeletal pain of the back, shoulders, and chest.
Utilizing this technique will get your clients out of pain quicker and last longer. They will be recommending you to their friends and others they hear talking about pains. This method is considerably less work on you without being harmful to the fingers and thumbs.
Preparation:
A general review of your anatomy book covering the upper body muscles. i
Objectives:
After taking this course the therapist will be able to:
- describe the pain gate theory and memory
- palpate the muscle which is ischemic and know how to prepare the tissue for release
- learn what to look for in your visual inspections and intake
- describe to the client toxin release and the importance of drinking water
- determine which muscles are responsible for various upper body pains
- Relieve hypertonic muscles
- instruct the client in proper self-care through exercise and stretching

- Short Discussion of pain & indicators Hands-on portion:
- Review of anatomy of muscle
- Demo of techniques with Q&A
- Hands on for each pair
